Mrs  Janis Mc Kenna

Janis McKenna is the eldest child of Nyaho founder Col Dr K N Tamaklo. She is a chairman, executive and non-executive director with more than 35 years’ experience in executive management and board positions in Australia, Republic of Ireland and Ghana.

Janis has worked across several industry sectors including manufacturing, financial services, fisheries, aged care, disability and healthcare. She is a MBA and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

As a highly-respected advocate she has provided expert advice to two Tasmanian Premiers, Ministers of Health and Human Services (both Australian Commonwealth and Tasmanian State) and is a past Chairman of the Tasmanian Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs and a member of the Premiers Disability Advisory Council and Premiers National Disability Insurance Scheme taskforce. 

Expertise and experience include the areas of leadership and strategy, corporate governance, mergers and acquisition, change management, policy and advocacy, aged, disability and community care combined with multi-site, interstate service management and international experience.

In 2009 Janis was recognized by the Australian business community for her leadership winning the prestigious Telstra Business Women's Award in the Tasmanian Government and Community Category and the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Leader of the Year Award.

Janis currently consults to businesses on leadership, strategy, senior executive mentoring and corporate governance including auditing existing boards as well as establishing new governance structures.
